This was one great movie, It gave something to everyone, For us classic Lone Ranger fans it was true to it, while ones who wanted an updated Lone Ranger got that also.
First let me say this was a Lone Ranger origin story so don't go in thinking that with the first half hour John Reid becomes The Lone Ranger because he don't in matter of fact it's almost the end when he truly becomes The Lone Ranger
There was humor but it wasn't over the top, I thought the comedy was going ruin the before I saw it but it did just the opposite it added to the quility of it.
Arnie "baking soda" Hammer was a good Lone Ranger but he was no John Hart or Clayton Moore but he was just as good as Klinton Spilsbury, and I thought it was an insult to make Johnny Depp Tonto and Depp would ruin the part because he always plays these over the top characters but he didn't he played Young and Old Tonto prefect(he was funny as hell, I love how he would trade worthless stuff like bird seed for gold watches or whatever else he wanted even, he would even take stuff from dead people and call it a trade).
I give Disney, Gus Van Sant and everyone else connected to this movie they keep one very important thing a secret and that was the William Tell Overture played a huge part in the soundtrack, When that song came up as The Lone Ranger was riding across the roof tops I got huge smile on my face that didn't leave after that with that theme it made me feel like I really was a classic Lone Ranger.
Now here is two of my favorite parts
When Tonto finds the dead rangers he is burring them and he doesn't like John because of of something that happened so when John starts to get up Tonto hits him with a shovel and starts throwing dirt on him, the the spirit horse arrives and Tonto keeps trying convince the horse Dan Reid is suppose to be the hero not John but the horse wants John.
My other favorite part is at the end when The Lone Ranger asks Tonto if he knows what Tonto means in Spanish (In Spanish Tonto means dumb/stupid/silly), I laughed so hard inside I had tears.
This a can't miss movie, if you only go to the movies once in awhile this is the one to see.
