The Sea Vixen was designed with an offset left hand canopy for the Pilot to provide better visibility during round-out hold-off and landing. At the 1952 Farnborough Air Show, the first prototype DH.110 exploded in mid air after it's wings sheared off during a high G maneuver. The second prototype was strengthened and Naval versions strengthened further still.

Sea Vixens were capable of refueling other aircraft in flight: Refueling a Scimitar: Sea Vixen to Sea Vixen: Refueling a lightning: Refueling a Valiant! Refueling a USAF F105 Thunderchief: Beautiful industrial design, and a very versatile aircraft. Given what appears to be quad storage tanks, the Vixen must have had tremendous fuel capacities. As an admirer of precision hardware, it's embarrassing to say I was unaware of this vehicles existence before this thread. Thanks!

It very much was a piece of precision hardware, it could carry 4 Firestreak or Red Top AA missiles / 4 Matra Rocket pods, or one Red Beard nuclear bomb as well as two drop tanks. Sadly by the time it was taken out of service Britain was skint and to ensure there was money to operate the newer Phantoms, so the Sea Vixens were sacrificed.
