When Bad Kitty was taken over to a friends shop, I had a nice surprise. One of the neighbors was moving his 1967 top fuel dragster. Check out his rig. That's a 392 Hemi. NICE!

He has more than one, I can't imagine what it's like to pilot one of these things. This one has a big block Olds. That's a Halibrand axle, ancient bullet proof design.

Isn't that awesome? The wagon is a 74 Buick Estate Wagon with a big ol' 400 cube Detroit iron block monster. That thing doesn't even know the trailer is there. Funny enough, the fella that owns these rigs has something in common with me, he has a 74 GMC motorhome. Totally original so it isn't like mine where I've added a bunch of after market stuff like 4 bag suspension, 6 wheel disc brakes and other improvements that have happened since the 70's. It's awesome there are enough gear headed people that have taken an interest in vehicles to advance technology for all enthusiasts. One of the things gear heads have come up with is diesel motor conversions. There is a guy in Florida that has done some very nice development work for the original GMC motorhome, I follow his work closely. When you have a few minutes to browse, check him out... www.gmccoop.com/

Instead I wimped out and bought an Airstrean trailer. Good luck with the restoration/rebuild, thoses are really cool machines. There are a few on them on Ebay that are gorgeous. Thanks for the site, will check it out.

Air Streams are so very awesome, all the attributes of comfortable living without the single purpose use of a motorhome. The negative thing about a purpose built vehicle like a motorhome is being able to run to the store after parking! How many times have I set up camp only to need a run to the store? DAMN IT! Talk about FAIL! Chairs out, awning deployed. astro turf spread only to find out milk, beer or coffee is in short supply. EFFing EFF! nice thing about a trailer is disconnecting and driving off. \ Wise choice Hex!

They also have drawbacks, hooking, unhooking, awnings, jacks, wiring, high winds we have out here in the SW, etc, etc, etc. With a Mh you can put a motoycycle/atv on the rear for those trips to the store. Its whatever you want to deal with.
