Late Sunday brunch with the nephew and my sister.
Funny about you posting this, I was thinking of making
a post about food and the serving sizes.
Watching a TV show I rarely watch, The Travel Channel,
when it's about places to eat.
They were having a countdown or their own poll of
the top 100 places to chow down. Chosen from visiting
every state in the union ...
and I was amazed at the serving sizes, more than supersized.
Some sandwiches and/or burgers had more groceries on them
than I eat in a week!
And some of the 'contests' put on by eating places,
challenging people to eat enough food to make their
stomach explode ... and it's amazing, some actually can eat it all!
One was about eating 4 types of steak servings, plus a giant slab
of prime rib. If you ate all that beef, plus sides, you won
$100 dollars, but lose and you owe them the cost of it all, which
they said was around $140 bucks.
All kinds of beef, pork, chicken and sausages, hot dogs, ...
pizza, and all those combined, plus sides ... it made me NOT
hungry, but uneasy.
And I almost forgot all the dino sized desserts ...
Thought of how the Govt went after McDonalds for it's fatty
foods ... hey, from what I've seen, Mickey D is way healthier.
Who really needs a 5lb steak in one meal? Or a slice of prime rib
that just the 'round' part is bigger than the dinner plate?
Or a milkshake that uses a half gallon of milk and half gallon of
ice cream?
Oh sure, it's not my business what anyone eats ...
only in a way.
check it out a bit if you never saw the show:
