When it comes to football I'm a supporter of the Peacocks (Leeds United AFC), I don't really care who replaces Ferguson, I'll still refer to them as Scumchester United. Everytime I've been to Manchester on a football day I've seen a sea of blue shirts and about four or five red ones heading to Victoria station.
For me the best thing about Manchester isn't football, it's Affleck's Palace in the Northern Quarter and the Cyberdog shop, though there's some excellent pubs in that city (despite them being widely spread out) if you're ever there check out Mr Thomas's Chop House and The Old Wellington Inn they're great and so is the pub food.

I fully understand your feelings about MUFC. I have the same feelings about DC United, they are called "the scum" by Red Bulls supporters. We're currently drooling over the fact that they're the worst side in MLS and we're sitting at the top of the table. For many years, it used to be the exact opposite. We can revel in the fact that we've beaten them more times in their place than we've beaten any other side in an away game.
Much more important, Thierry "Titi" Henry scored a masterpiece last game, it was his second goal of the game and was the game winner against a top side in MLS, Montreal. This one should be a candidate for goal of the year:

Wondered where Thierry Henry had gone, I still remember him playing for Arsenal when they were nearly all French.
Leeds used to be one of the best teams in English football, we've got the 1st Division trophy in perpetuity from the glory days of Wilko's reign. I watched them draw 3:3 to Lazio at a friendly at Elland road back in 2001. I'll always love Leeds but former Chairman Peter Ridsdale bankrupted us. Ken Bates who followed him may have been a bit of a proverbial frying pan but it was Ridsdale who put us into the fire. But we'll be back in the Premier League one day.
