Here's what they think are important enough to take up time on the floor of the house. God help us, please. "Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert introduced an amendment to the Continuing Resolution that would not provide the White House with any taxpayer funds to transport President Barack Obama to and from any golf course until they resume White House public tours. In a House floor speech, Gohmert said he filed the amendment with the House Rules Committee. “None of the funds made available by a division of this act may be used to transport the president to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume,” the amendment reads." Seems that Democrats set the profile for that when they got Obama elected to a second term of national disasters.

Kids don't need to see the inside of the White House and how it functions. I'm with you on this one.

Georgia State Representative Cynthia McKinney has introduced a bill before the United States Congress that would require the National Archives to establish a :Tupac Amaru Shakur Records Collection." Congresswoman McKinney takes time to explain how this bill will work and how people can participate in the passing of the bill in her Tupac Shakur Legislative Primer. The Tupac Amaru Shakur Records Collection Act of 2005 would require all federal, state and local agencies to release the files they have that pertain to the life and death of Shakur, including those obtained through surveillance and government operations. The bill was put forward on Nov. 2 by Rep. Cynthia McKinne, D-Ga., who previously drafted similar legislation for the records of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. ...and?

Are you're OK with children getting cut off of medical and nutritional assistance because of the sequester? Rep. Gomer seems to think so. And are you saying the president deserves no leisure time?

So in your mind Gomert wanting to fund WH tours over travel to and from the golf course means he doesn't want to fund children on medical and nutritional assistance, but funding Obama's trips to and from the golf course over WH tours doesn't mean he doesn't want to fund children on medical and nutritional assistance. Got it. If I were saying the President doesn't deserve leisure time then I would have said the President doesn't deserve leisure time. Did you read those words from me?

This is part of what hurt Bush Seniors presidency. He hid in the white house and played golf while the recession of 1990 hurt many people's jobs , unemployment was high and the stock market did well.

I was being sarcastic. Gomert is making a point that the WH has chosen to end WH tours when they could have easily found funding for them from other less important things. The President still can get his leisure time.
If you are going to say that Gomert is picking WH tours over children in need of medical and nutritional assistance then why wouldn't you say that Obama has picked golfing over children in need of medical and nutritional assistance?

Both sides like to play these stupid games. Right now bo is picking the most painful things to cut so he can upset the public. It's all about winning the house in 2014 and this administration is willing to use whatever propaganda that is necessary to achieve this goal.
Bo needs to stop campaigning and start governing in a responsible way.

If you are going to say that Gomert is picking WH tours over children in need of medical and nutritional assistance then why wouldn't you say that Obama has picked golfing over children in need of medical and nutritional assistance? Because the president needs to come and go as he pleases. What the president chooses to do on his private time is none of any ones f-ing business. It's petty, it's childish and it's beneath a member of the house to act like this. You're OK with a member of the house acting like this? Gomer chose the sequester, which hurt children in the first place, and now he wants to use children again to make some stupid point about the president playing golf. Gomer and the repugs want to make a mockery of the presidency. That's fine, but there will be a price to pay for all this stupidity by the repugs.

No is saying the President can't come and go as he pleases nor is anyone saying he can't do what he pleases on his private time. Although, what our President does on his private time and on our dime is usually everyone's "f-ing business". I am okay with a member of the House pointing out that the President has been ridiculous on the issue of the sequester. Obama chose the sequester also. It's ridiculous and naive to pretend that only one side brought us the sequester. Though, had the Democrats negotiate in good faith we may have avoided it. Instead they wanted tax increases with the spending cuts delayed, but when cutting time came around they wanted more tax increases. I'm not aware of Gomert using children at all. I'm the one that brought up the matter of kids touring the WH. I'm okay with the GOP paying a price on this. The party needs to suffer a blow that will get them back to the their roots. The neocons have to go before I'll ever vote for them again. I just wish I could trust the Democrats during that time.
