damn good music there. genesis has always ranked at or near the top of the heap in my book I feel the same way, they were so unique back in the day. I first saw Genesis at the Felt Forum in Madison Square Garden in 1972 and caught every concert in the NYC area since up to the first one without Peter Gabriel. I always felt they lost a lot when Gabriel left the band and got a bit too commercialized. But I guess that made them more popular later on.

Phil Collins brought the band to a whole other level, Chester Thompson...what a drummer. Overall one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Phil Collins brought the band to a whole other level, Chester Thompson...what a drummer. Overall one of the greatest rock bands of all time. That's one of the reasons I feel Peter Gabriel was so important to Genesis (besides the artistry and synergy), because it allowed Phil Collins to play the drums. IMO, he's one of the greatest rock drummers there is. Had he stayed on, Genesis would have evolved differently and better, again, that's just my opinion.
