Most people put it in brownies, smoke it or maybe make a cookie. I guess you could add it to meatloaf. {Spoiler} yes I know you meant the stew inside a pastry shell.

It was a damn good one, a Marie Callender. When I was 18, I moved 500 miles from home with two buddies. We all got jobs fairly quickly, but of course it was going to be 2 weeks before any of us got paid. Money was tight. We pooled all of our change and came up with about 11 dollars. We discovered that the local grocery store had pot pies 4 for a dollar. they had chicken, turkey, beef, and a couple other flavors, so we bought 40 pot pies. i had pot pies for breakfast, lunch, dinner. That was in 1975 and I hadn't eaten a single pot pie until last night. Speaking of Marie Callender's, I found this funny interview from Paul McCartney a few years ago: RD: Where does the title Driving Rain come from? McCARTNEY: We had this one day off while we were recording, and it rained a lot in February in L.A. But we didn't mind because it was still nice. So I hired a little black Corvette, which is one of my little perks. I was enjoying myself, driving around. Because it's L.A., you're in America, the land of Corvettes. Heather and I took off up the Pacific Coast Highway past Malibu, in the rain. So we were driving in the rain and we stopped off for lunch at what we thought was a really classy restaurant. And we got back to the studio and said, "Wow, we had a great day yesterday." And everyone's saying, "Yeah?" We said, "Yeah, we stopped at a great classy little restaurant. You probably even know it." They said, "What was it called?" "Marie Callender’s." It turned out it’s like a chain, famous for like big pies. And we thought really classy, and they're all hollering, they're all screaming, laughing. It’s Americana! I said, "What are you all laughing at?" We thought it was a find, you know. Anyway, we had a great time, drove back after this high-class lunch, which, I must say, I'll still stick up for it. us.readersdigest.com/images/content/101101/Paul_McCartney_interview.pdf

Pete we used to get pot pies all the time. I used to buy them when I was single too. 4 or 5 for $1 depending. Over time the chicken ones didn't taste that great, processed meat an all. We bought a Marie Callendar Dutch apple pie at Christmas time. TERRIBLE. took it out of the box and the topping is in a separate bag. the pie itself was level, no mound and you could only see about 3 pieces of apple sticking out, the rest was frozen liquid. So, I had a can of apple pie filling in the cupboard. I poured that into a bowl and added some real cinnamon (ceylon cinnamon) some molasses, some brown sugar, stirred it up and put it on top of the frozen pie. Then I took their filling which tasted like crushed pic dough and I added cinnamon, brown sugar and old fashioned oats to that and stirred it up and packed it on top of the pie and baked it. We only lost a little bit of liquid to the baking sheet and the pie tasted really good. I can't imagine how pathetic it would have been had we not doctored it up. Their coconut cream pie is really good though!
