What did they accomplish?
More spending, bailouts, TARP.... then Bush gets blamed (since it's convenient).
Then Obama had the White House, and Dems still controlled congress. Again, they accomplished nothing. Blame Bush again!

The damage was done already by the repugs. Here's what president Cheney said about deficits. >>>In 2002, Vice-President Dick Cheney and the Bush administration’s economic team met to discuss a second round of tax cuts, which would follow Bush’s 2001 cuts. At the meeting, “then-Treasury Secretary Paul H. O’Neill pleaded that the government — already running a $158 billion deficit — was careening toward a fiscal crisis.” Allegedly, Cheney replied by saying that “deficits don’t matter.”<<< thinkprogress.org/economy/2008/10/02/172396/cheney-deficit-debt/?mobile=nc

Another liberal blog. So how again does taking money from the private sector (tax hikes) help the economy? Remember he inherited the dot.com bubble, 9/11, Enron, etc which all hurt the economy.

His is WAY more. Bush inherited 9/11 from Clinton's slashed intel and 8 years of attacks while he chased interns. How do you go from deficits to Ken Lay?

That's a complete product of the Bush depression. You do know how percentages work and how they would appear on a chart? I'm going to have to teach you math now?

We had 52 months of economic growth until Pelosi/Reid took congress and the DNC housing bubble kicked in. Unemployment was 4.4% in 2006, has Obama had it ever that low? You deny facts.

You're changing the subject. so do you deny unemployment was 4.4% while you're whining about how "bad" the economy was then and how good it is under Hussein?

You bring up the housing bubble and I'm changing the subject? What a maroon... And bringing up W's average unemployment is like saying the average depth of the Titanic was the middle of the ocean.

The GOP controlled both houses for 14 years, 6 of those with a GOP President.... and about all they accomplished was 9-11 and the housing implosion...

I didn't realize Obama had brought the deficits down so far from what he inherited. And, to be clear, what Cheney said was, "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter. We won the mid-term elections, this is our due." The context being that the general public does't pay much attention to deficits in the course of a political campaign.
