Why is it "sweet"? Why is it that there are so many of you on the Left that find great joy in destroying Christianity especially as presented by Roman Catholicism? There was great glee in attacking all Mormonism because Leftists didn't like Romney. Seems that negativity is the rallying word for Liberalism.

Many in my very Catholic family are glad to see Father Ratzinger go away. The criminal hierarchy of the Mother Church of Christendom have certainly helped to connect the crime of pedophilia with the very mention of Catholicism....... Very sad for the hundreds of millions of faithful Christians who consider themselves Roman Catholics.

I just find this piling on repulsive. It smacks of the same kind of hatred that fed the French Revolution when hundreds of French royalty were beheaded just because they were part of the royal hierarchy. Perhaps, Snark, it is time for everyone to take a step back and examine their own motives in their attacks. If you have a case - file it; If you don't have a case - ..........

Did you read the article, numary? That is what it is about. In the past his position precluded him against cases being brought forth against him. The church mantains he still enjoys that protection in retirement. Others are saying maybe not.

Clean up the freakshow and I will never criticize the Catholics. My whole family is Catholic. Catholics make great war protesters. But the bad guys gotta go!

The Catholic church needs to be investigated about the molestation. They should not be allowed to be above the law of the land. What does the bible say about hurting children?

I think that is a pretty harsh way to look at it. But on the other hand,IMO, if something of this magnatude had gone on in any other organization, the people defending and saying they are being attacked would be at the front of the line wanting someone to be accountable for it.

Yes debto I have read the article and many others regarding the manner. What all of you seem to forget is that it is the ROMAN Catholic Church that has been the problem. I am a member of a Catholic faith and there are many arms of the Catholicism that are not under the Roman umbrella. This is hurting our church also even though we are not part of the group. Pedophilia is wrong and criminal and should be punished but it should be done on a case by case basis not this poisonous kind of rhetoric that hurts all Christianity.

I agree. Wouldn't holding the Vatican or the person in charge responsible for the policy moving, protecting, and hiding of abusers help centralize the blame or responsibility?

All priests who molest should be excommunicated. The Church doesn't even WANT to punish them! That's a problem. They should be prosecuted and excommunicated. Period.

How do I go about finding out what this Karma count is all about and who decides who gets a Karma and who subtracts from those earned. Makes no sense to me along with those little file folders to the left of some threads.

Makes no sense to me along with those little file folders to the left of some threads. It's kind of like the rating thing on the other boards. Someone can basically say they like your post or don't like them.

So does that mean if someone doesn't like your post they can take away your Karma? Who decides if a Karma should be removed?

The the pro board I was on a long time ago stopped the smite and just kept the karma because it just became a joke of people going after certain posters.

You missed my entire point Snark but it is no more than I would expect. no actually i didn't. not talking about that sinful crime or any other is what perpetuates the problem. thank God i wasn't a victim- but that doesn't mean that i should not speak my mind on the matter. btw- i consider myself a Christian. i believe in heaven, angels, Jesus, & God. & i gave you a karma for talking to me here although now i see it's gone & 'twasn't me who did it. no worries.

It should not be allowed to be swept under the rug so to speak. There needs to be a major investigation into the molestations. Even if it goes all the way up to the pope.
