I don't think there's a comic shop around here anymore. There used to be a couple I frequented which also sold model kits & other collectables, but they're long gone. My area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to that kind of stuff...there's nothing cool left.

When I lived in VT i would have to travel 60 to the closest comic book shop, So i would make there every couple weeks and they would hold the comics they knew I would want. I remember once I went the clerk handed me my comic books(I always got two copies one to read and one that was prebagged and back boarded) and the owner from out back yelled "Is that Mike?" The clerk said yes, He yelled "Hey don't leave I got something saved you are going to want." He comes out and he has a Superman Stein with a pewter lid, He said I go only one in and people saw but I told them i was saving for you, He then said it would normally sell it for $65.00 but he would get it to me for his cost of $50.00

I also got a huge box of GI Joe & Johnny West stuff for $50...this was before Ebay when that stuff was going for crazy money. I began looking up that comic collection I bought...slow process, lol. Started with the Sgt Rocks & the first three covered the price I paid, according to what they sold for on Ebay.

I used to collect star wars comics when I was a teenager. Dark Empire series, Rogue Squadron, that kind of thing.
