HOOVER, Ala. – Authorities say a 6-year-old girl was taken to a hospital after she was bitten by a venomous copperhead snake at a park in Hoover. Al.com reports the girl was bitten while walking with her grandparents Friday evening along a wooded trail at Veterans Park. Rusty Lowe, executive officer for the Hoover Fire Department, said the snake bit the girl on the foot. Lowe says the girl was stable when firefighters took her to an area children's hospital Friday. He says firefighters were able to find the snake and confirmed it was a copperhead. The snake was sent to the hospital where the girl had been taken. www.foxnews.com/science/2014/08/05/6-year-old-girl-bitten-by-copperhead-snake-at-alabama-park/

That dang global warming! I waa out with some Atlanta cops last Sunday about 3AM looking for some stolen electronics, and the item had been thrown into some tall grass and weeds, and they were like 'F it, there's snakes in there'. i said gimme the damn flashlight, walked into that mess and found what I was looking for in about 30 seconds. i was lucky because evidently a switch had been jarred when the item was thrown, and there was a red light blinking on it. easy find
