F1 legend Nigel Mansell gives the great Ayrton Senna a lift in 1991
Jonny Wilkinson's drop goal that won England the Rugby Union World Cup in 2003.
What are your great sporting moments ?

Miracle on Ice! 1980, Lake Placid
No one ever thought a bunch of college kids and amateurs could beat those huge Russians, who had won every year since 1954

F1 legend Nigel Mansell gives the great Ayrton Senna a lift in 1991 What are your great sporting moments ? Mansell is one of my favorite all time drivers. And F1 hasn't been the same since Sennas death. Although this year seems to be shaping up to be very interesting. I know it's only two races but there seems to be a lot of competitors for the title. I was half asleep this morning and missed the controversy from today's race. Did you see it? I don't think too much of Vettle.

I have to agree with the Miracle on Ice.
But being a Mets fan this will never be forgotten. There were two out in the bottom of the tenth, nobody on, the scoreboard at Shea stadium congratulated the Red Sox for their World Series victory, and the rest is history.
When this happened I almost jumped through the ceiling. A never forget moment.

You're right, F1 hasn't been the same since the death of Senna, worse still part of the season's F1 coverage in Britain is now on Sky rather than the BBC and I don't have a sky subscription. Sebastian Vettel disobeyed his team today and overtook his team mate Mark Webber that was interesting but not anywhere near the spectacular theatre of the 1970's and 80's & 90's formula 1 legends. I wish I'd been old enough to see this thing race: It won it's race 34 seconds ahead of everyone else.

I started watching F1 in the late seventies and there was so much competition among teams back then.Today you have one or two teams dominate and takes away from the sport. Also, technology has taken away from the sport. I want to see a driver actually shift a car and take care of their car/transmission throughout out a race. The automatic transmission has take away from the sport IMO.
I want to see these drivers today run a race while manually changing gear like Senna is doing here.

USA last minute goal in the World Cup group game vs Algeria. The goal gave the US first place and a ticket to the next round. Without that goal, they would have got last place and out. Andres Cantor completely lost it. Spanish not required to get the gist:
And who can forget this, Brandi Chastain's goal to win the 1999 Women's World Cup:

Look how far he throws this football in the air. I don't think I ever seen a QB throw a football that far.

I really thought Stewart was bound for greatness in the NFL. Just goes to show... Did you notice some of the other players on that field? Tom Brady. Ty Law. Amani Toomer. And the infamous Ray Carruth, who arranged a driveby on his girlfriend and is now in jail.

And the infamous Ray Carruth, who arranged a driveby on his girlfriend and is now in jail. Brady...who's NFL prospects at the time were practically non-existent. Carruth...potential superstar...has there ever been a stupider MF in sports history? Go figure.

I remember watching that game when The Hawk lost it on that 3rd strike call by Joe West. Joe West is the worst ball/strike umpire I ever remember in Major league baseball.
