I LOVE old cars! Just got my '72 Chevelle out & washed up. Been a five year project that's finally almost done. Not a single matching number on it, lol...totally built from parts. Lookin' good though. I'll post a pic one of these days.

I'm in the tech field but damned if I can figure out how to post images here. A little help from my friends? Speaking of doo %$&@, last Friday at cruise night, the DJ's were out in force playing all the fav's. Even heard Dusty Springfield play! Total time trip. There was a dragster group there that lit up their classic rails running regular fuel, the flames flew, the doo %$&@ played, the pizza was served and the beer flowed. Fun was had by all.

This '47 Chev was my "mobile home" during my youthful travels of the west. I picked it up from an old signpainter in Burkburnett, TX for the princely sum of $150. I left Douglas, WY in the spring of 1983 with my clothes, stereo, records, guitar, a .22 pistol, potted cactus, a mangy stray cat, case of oil, a new set of Sears retreads & a "package" hidden in the spare. Drove straight through, stopping only for gas & made it to WI with a couple quarts of oil left over & barely any brakes, LOL! It spent the next 28 years serving as a storage unit & slowly settling into the ground. A couple years ago I hauled it up by the garage & began rehab. Still needs a lot but is running good with totally rebuilt brakes. I love this old tank. Check out this motor...a child could work on it, lol. Probably gets better mileage than the modern ones too.

LOL, one of the retreads still holding air. Can barely buy a set of $%#$@ing tires now for what I had invested in the truck, all my possessions & the cost of the trip. Ahhh...the good old daze.

Johnny could make any song good. I crossed paths with his music all my life. One of the earliest musical memories I have is "Ring of Fire" on the radio.
